Maybe you’ve noticed, but I’ve been on a rant lately. It began one night with a lady shouting “You are not broken!” in my headphones as I was listening to a podcast.
That one phrase birthed a new mindset in me. I am not broken?! Honestly, it was a new thought! Typically, I think I have to straighten out one more thing about myself before I can be acceptable. Shame on me, at my age, to grasp the concept that I am truly complete in who God made me to be!
And you are too!
Think about it for a minute – you were made uniquely you! You have one chance. There are no rewinds!
Oh my! So let’s live each day to the fullest using the gifts and talents that God planted in you. He made you in His image. Live it!!
I have a crazy quirk – when I find a song that I love, I play it over and over and over again! The other day my husband said, “Maybe we should start a radio station that just plays the same song on repeat!” Perhaps I overdo it, but when I find a good one, I cannot get enough.
This week I wanted to share my latest find! It’s a song called, “Heaven on Earth,” by the band Stars Go Dim and it is rich! Below is the video with the lyrics.
The video is 3 minutes – so it’s quick. And worth every second! And it’s FUN!
Let the lyrics remind you:
Who God is
What He made you for
Where you find your fullfillment
You are not broken – you have a purpose!
Listen and be Renewed!
I’ll leave you with that!
Have a great week friends – Be blessed!!!!

Thanks for the songspiration! I love the “you are not broken” philosophy. The world would be a happier place if more people truly believed that.

Amen! It would!!

Amen and amen! Have a great week Kelly!

My daughter used to do the same thing (listen to a song over and over)—she was four, and would sit entranced for as long as we’d let her, listening to the same song.

I can’t get enough when I find a song that ministers to my soul!

Oh friend, I am just the same as you – songs on repeat – sometimes for days on end! And this one will be on repeat here all day, maybe for days! The word “light” has been in my thoughts for a while now. Thank you for some new to me music that echoed my prayer: “Take my life & let it be. Set on fire for all to see. Break me down, build me up again. Don’t leave me the way I’ve been.” Yes and amen! Have a great Tuesday! xo
Char says
Oh! Yay, you love it too Joanne!!! I was on my way to the airport at 5:00 am his morning and had to play it just to get the day started right!! Enjoy!
Michele Morin says
I’m the same with music. If something speaks to me, I want to absorb it and ponder the words, which often go by too fast for me to really “get” on the first, or the second, or the third . . . listen.
Thanks for sharing your latest!
Char says
So I’m normal?! Yay!!

This is a breakthrough post!! I feel the same way as you and I feel inspired by the song you shared with us. I tend to play the same song over and over as it touches my soul. Also, this song is upbeat and not solemn which I need right now. Thank you for writing. It’s unique and incredible.
Char says
I’m glad you love it! Enjoy!

I still listen to the same song over again if I like it. It drives others crazy but that is me. Love the post today because I feel like I am broken all the time. People can not leave me alone and are always telling me how to change myself and so on. It gets tiresome.
I have always operated on a saying “When God made us, he left a little Not Done Yet in all of us,” but I am starting to get away from that because these days (with all the strangeness around me) it makes me feel like I am broken.
Thanks for the great song and words. Also, thanks for hosting and I hope that you have a wonderful week.
Char says
Nope! We all have a ways to go- but that’s part of our journey till we see Him face to face.
nylse says
I do the same thing when it comes to a song I like; I could listen to it for days until it seeps into my soul.
Char says
I’ll tell my hubby I’m not crazy then! Enjoy Nylse!

Thanks for stopping in Lauren.

Funny, I feel better knowing I am broken. Keeps me relying on God instead of “smarty pants me.” Cultivates a grateful heart – thankful God’s got it all under control. Keeps me non-judgemental of others – humility is good for growing a compassionate mindset. (Of course, I didn’t hear the podcast! (:)
Char says
I understand. And we are called to humility but I think as a whole we overdo it, and don’t walk in all that God wants to do through us because we’re waiting to be better. You rock it Sue! He’s using you mightily!

I have one album that I listen to over and over. It started with one song I loved and that really spoke to my heart, but then I fell in love with the whole album. I have no idea how many times I’ve listened to it. It’s my go-to for music.
Char says
I’d love to know the album! Very special Donna. Thanks for sharing!
Donna Reidland says
The Album is “Experiencing God” by the Mandate and the song is “All I Once Held Dear.”

Thank you for sharing this uplifting song. I also, play a song over and over again if it speaks to me. One of my favorites is “I am” by Crowder. It seems when I am in need of inspiration, the song comes on the radio. https://m.youtube.com/channel/UC2q3C_Ywn-JprYAd-_opCKA
Char says
That’s a great song Cheryl! I added it to my Spotify playlist called “Songs from friends!” It’s so precious to have great song that touch my heart from friends that touch my heart!! I save them all when friends suggest a song!
Char says
Oh! Have you ever hear David Crowder interviewed?? He is hilarious! He writes these deep songs and he’s a comedian! Love him!
