Dear Young Mom,
I’m older than you. Much…. Actually I just turned 55 – which seems so much younger than when my parents turned 55. LOL!
And you know that with old age…comes wisdom. It says so in Job 12:12 of the bible. Look it up! With that said…
I’d like to encourage you to find your voice. Be who you are.
Sometimes when we’re young, we allow others to mold us into who they want us to be.
Sometimes we get caught up in wanting “friends” that we mold ourselves into what we think they want us to be.
Sometimes, we think we have more time and chances than we do. What I mean is – today counts. When we let too much time go by and hide behind a facade…
Sometimes we lose ourselves – trying to be someone we’re not.
You are a precious, beautiful, gift to your children, your husband, your friends and colleagues. In being authentically you, you are able to bring into the situation a perspective that wouldn’t otherwise be seen.
Dare to be… YOU!
Give the world a gift that no one else can give them!
YOU!
Your perspective.
Your sense of humor.
Your smile.
Your talents and skills.
Your kindness.
Your touch.
YOU!
Don’t waste another second being anyone but who you truly are!

We DO lose ourselves in the push and pull of daily mothering! Thanks for this collection of encouragement!

Char, this post made me smile as we surely do think we have to do the typical or fit a time line. My youngest granddaughter (almost 4 mos) is going to roll over but in her own unique way. And just the other day, I whispered to her, “Eliza, you just do things your own way. Be you!” Now to remember this myself is the challenge! Blessings, friend!

What a wonderful blessing to Eliza to have a grandma that speaks life!

Perfect advice to a young mom. It reminds me of the Sara Bareilles song “I Want to See You Be Brave”, which I love.

I am still trying to find my voice at 55. Well, at least my writing voice. Yes, wisdom comes with age. Great letter to new moms.
